Letter to The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights - 01.02.2004

Following the written request made by my brother and I, on 12.04.2003, regarding the further investigation of the extra judicial murders of our parents, Dariush and Parvaneh Forouhar, which we previously sent to you, I would now like to send you a further attachment which contains some new information.

In particular are the statements made by the official chairperson of the article 90 of Islamic Assembly, who is in charge of investigating the political murders of Autumn 1998,  which are quite significant.

Mrs. Shirin Ebadi, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who is also the lawyer appointed by my brother and I to pursue our case, is prepared to describe the unlawful actions taken by the Islamic Republic judiciary.
Shirin Ebadi has given her explicit support for our endeavours to solicit the support of UN Human Rights organisations in pursuing the investigations surrounding the extra judicial murders in Iran, of Autumn 1998.

Also in the reply we received from the UN High Commisioner for Human Rights on 30. June 2003, it is said that our communication has been forwarded to the official authorities in the Islamic Republic, and the Commission is waiting for a reply. Please let me know if you have received any new information.

Kind Regards,
Parastou Forouhar
